After reading about figure ground, gestalt and seeing everything being broken down I wanted to do something at first glance was simple. Working with silhouettes let me simplify the content shown to work just with form and clearly separate the subject as the focal point. This was surprisingly one of the harder shots I’ve completed I spent over an hour just trying different lighting set-ups in the studio to get a bright white backdrop while not having all the light bounce from the back wall. I managed to get the desired effect by turning down the three lights I was using to 8 power with two hooded strobes on the backdrop, with another directly behind the model at a downward angle. This shot in particular stood out to me in the symmetry of the pose with the balance of white space.
